38th Annual Key West Poker Run September 16-19, 2010
More than 10,000 motorcycles and riders from throughout the United States are expected to traverse the scenic Overseas Highway from mainland Florida to Key West, during the annual Key West Poker Run. The event began in 1972 with 46 riders and has grown into a major fundraiser for South Florida charities. Phil Peterson of Harley-Davidson of Miami and the Key West Sunrise Rotary Club of the Conch Republic organize the ride, which splits proceeds between the Diabetes Research Institute and Sunrise Rotary's local charities and scholarships.
